Scale Model

I built this scale model (1"=1') of the shop before starting construction. It was important to me not to have any hanging wires or hose, so by making the model I was able to make sure where the tools would fit. You can see that there is a lot of room by the big door. There is enough room to pull my truck in. The plan is to run the dust collection pipes and electrical conduits under the concrete slab over to the table saw, planner, jointer, and where the work bench will be. This made the exact location planning of the tools very important. I felt the model was the only way for me to accomplish this, besides it was fun to build it. The model was set up in the store for all to see and it proved to be a great source of ideas.
